Help
Delete your account
You can delete your Kubyn account and personal data at any time — from inside the app, or by email. No phone call, no retention offer, no queue.
Deletion is permanent
Once erasure completes, your transactions, goals, and history cannot be recovered — by you or by us. If you want a copy, generate a statement from the app before you start.
Option 1 — in the app
The fastest route. Four steps, about a minute.
- 1
Open Settings in the Kubyn app
Sign in, then tap your profile and open Settings.
- 2
Go to Account → Delete Account
You will see a summary of exactly what will be removed before you commit to anything.
- 3
Confirm with OTP
We verify it is really you with a one-time password sent to your registered mobile number or email.
- 4
Done
Your account is deactivated immediately, active sessions end, and Account Aggregator consents are revoked. We email you to confirm when erasure is complete.
Path: Settings → Account → Delete Account
Option 2 — by email
Lost access to the app, or already uninstalled it? Email us from the address registered to your account, with the subject line Account Deletion. We verify your identity before acting, then confirm by email once erasure is done.
Email support@kubyn.orgInclude your registered mobile number and email so we can match the account. Never include your PIN, an OTP, or bank credentials.
What gets deleted
Everything below is erased or irreversibly anonymised within 30 days of your request.
- Profile and identity
- Name, email, mobile number, date of birth, gender, and any demographic details you added.
- Security credentials
- The hash of your Security PIN, session records, and device registrations.
- Financial records you entered
- Transactions, income and expense entries, categories, notes, and calculator inputs.
- Goals
- Savings goals and every contribution recorded against them.
- Account Aggregator data
- All financial information fetched under your AA consent. The consent itself is revoked so no further data can be fetched.
- Voice and chat history
- Voice command logs and your conversations with the in-app assistant.
- Notification tokens
- Your Firebase Cloud Messaging token, so push notifications stop.
- Support correspondence
- Past tickets and messages, once any open matter is closed.
What we must keep, and why
Indian law requires some records to survive an erasure request. We keep the minimum, use it only for the stated purpose, and never for marketing or profiling.
- Payment and transaction records
- Retained for the period required by tax, audit, and payment regulations. These are held by the payment partner and the banks involved as well as by us, and cannot be erased on request.
- Records needed for a live dispute
- If a payment dispute, chargeback, or grievance is open, related records are kept until it is closed.
- Fraud and abuse signals
- Minimal, irreversibly hashed markers may be kept to stop a terminated account being recreated to repeat abuse.
- Anonymised aggregates
- Statistics that can no longer identify you may be retained indefinitely. These are not personal data.
Timeline
- Immediately
- Account deactivated, all sessions ended, Account Aggregator consents revoked, notifications stopped.
- Within 48 hours
- Email requests are acknowledged and identity verification begins.
- Within 30 days
- Personal data erased or irreversibly anonymised, and a confirmation email sent.
Want less, not nothing?
You can revoke your Account Aggregator consent, turn off promotional messages, or disable notifications from Settings without deleting anything. Your other rights — access, correction, and withdrawing consent — are in section 7 of the Privacy Policy, and Support can walk you through any of them.
